Who we are RBS Auto Work is the automotive services group of Radd Payment Solutions, LLC , a Massachusetts company that runs billing, receivables, bookkeeping and payroll for operating businesses. RBS Auto Work is where that capability is applied to automotive service companies we operate or partner with. RBS Emden LLC, our vehicle lift and mechanical service company, is the operating business most commercial customers deal with day to day: it sells and installs vehicle lifts, performs ALI certified inspections and keeps lifts, tire changers and balancers in service across the Mid-Atlantic. RBS Customs LLC designs and builds custom classic Broncos for private clients, and RBS Allier LLC supplies parts and B2B services to shops, dealers and fleets. How the group works Each company runs its own technicians, shop and inventory. What they share is the back office: scheduling, invoicing, customer accounts and receivables run centrally, so a customer with three locations gets one point of contact and one consistent invoice. The same team provides receivables management to a small number of partner operators who keep their own name and crews. It is a back-office service for established automotive businesses we work with directly, not a public offering. Where we are Our administrative office is at 47 Pleasant Street, Suite BS, Northampton, MA 01060. Vehicle lifts are the one piece of shop equipment that can hurt someone if it fails. That is why the industry standard (ANSI/ALI ALOIM) calls for every lift to be inspected at least once a year by a qualified inspector, on top of the daily checks your technicians do. Insurers and landlords increasingly ask for the inspection record; OSHA will ask after an incident. What the inspector looks at Structure and anchoring. Columns, base plates, anchor bolts and torque, floor condition around the anchors, and any signs of movement or cracking. Lifting system. On a two-post lift: equalizer cables, sheaves, cable tension and wear, hydraulic cylinders, hoses and fittings, and the power unit. On a four-post: cables, sheaves, the runway locks and the slack-cable devices. In-ground lifts get the piston, seals and the plunger checked. Locks and safeties. Every lock position, lock release, and that the locks engage evenly on both columns. This is the most common failure point we see. Controls and labels. Up and down controls, the lowering valve, capacity labels, ALI certification label and the operating instructions on the lift. Arms and adapters. Arm restraints, swing-arm pins, pad condition and height adapters. What happens on the visit The inspector needs the bay clear and the lift fully lowered. Each lift gets its own report, tied to the bay number, model and serial. A lift that passes gets a dated inspection label. A lift that does not pass is reported with what failed and a written repair estimate; it should be taken out of service until the repair is done and re-checked. What fails most often Worn or frayed equalizer cables, safety locks that do not engage cleanly, leaking cylinder seals, loose or corroded anchors, and missing or illegible capacity labels. None of these are expensive to fix compared with a lift that drops a car. How to prepare Give us the lift count, makes and models ahead of time, keep the bays clear that morning, and have the last inspection report or repair record handy. A typical shop with four to six lifts is done in a morning. Inspection pricing is per lift and drops when several lifts are inspected in one visit. Request an inspection schedule for your shop. URL: https://rbsautowork.com/insights/two-post-vs-four-post-lifts-for-a-small-shop Insights Two-post or four-post lift for a small shop? How to choose between a two-post and a four-post lift for a one- to four-bay shop: vehicle mix, ceiling height, floor, storage and alignment work. Most small shops end up with a mix, but the first lift you buy should match the work you actually do. Here is how we walk owners through the choice. Two-post lifts The general-purpose repair lift. Arms swing under the vehicle's lift points, wheels hang free, and the technician has open access to brakes, suspension, exhaust and the underside. Capacities run from 9,000 lb for cars and light trucks up to 18,000 lb for full-size trucks and vans. Symmetric arms are fine for most cars; versymmetric or asymmetric arms make door access easier and handle longer wheelbases. You need a solid, level concrete floor (usually a minimum of 4 inches, 3,000 psi or better) and about 12 feet of clear ceiling for a standard lift. Four-post lifts Drive-on runways. Best for oil changes, exhaust, inspections, alignment (with turn plates and rolling jacks) and storage. Wheels stay loaded, so brake and suspension work needs rolling jacks to lift the axle off the runway. They need more floor space and a longer bay, but they are forgiving on floor quality because the load is spread across four posts, and they are the right choice for alignment racks and for stacking a second vehicle in a tight shop. Questions that decide it What do you lift most? Cars and light trucks for mechanical repair: two-post. Fleet trucks, alignment, quick-lube or storage: four-post. Ceiling height. Measure to the lowest obstruction (ducts, lights, door tracks), not the deck. Floor. We check slab thickness and condition before anchoring a two-post lift; if the slab is thin or cracked, a four-post or a new pad is the safer answer. Power and air. Most lifts need a dedicated 220V circuit; air-over-hydraulic locks need shop air at the column. Budget Installed two-post lifts typically run $4,000 to $12,000 depending on capacity and accessories; four-post and alignment lifts start around $10,000 installed. Installation includes anchoring, power and air connections where required, a full function test and a signed sign-off with photos. See pricing or the equipment we install . More insights --- ## What a custom classic Bronco build costs, and how payments are staged URL: https://rbsautowork.com/insights/what-a-custom-bronco-build-costs-and-how-payments-are-staged Insights What a custom classic Bronco build costs, and how payments are staged A plain explanation of build pricing for a first-generation Bronco restomod, what drives the number, and the deposit and progress-payment schedule. A frame-up build of a first-generation (1966 to 1977) Bronco is a long project with a lot of decisions, so the price and the payment schedule are set in writing before anything starts. Here is how RBS Customs structures it. What drives the price Donor. Client-supplied or sourced by us; rust and completeness matter more than mileage. Chassis and drivetrain. Frame restoration and powder coat, coil-over suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, steering, and the engine and transmission choice. A modern fuel-injected V8 crate engine with an automatic is the most common spec. Body and paint. Steel or fiberglass panels, gap and fit work, and the paint system. Two-tone and period-correct schemes add booth time. Interior and electronics. Leather or marine-grade vinyl, air conditioning, audio, gauges and sound deadening. Options. Lift and tire packages, winch bumpers, roll cages, auxiliary lighting, heated seats. Most complete builds fall between $150,000 and $300,000. The build agreement states one fixed price; anything that changes it afterwards is written up as a change order you approve before the work happens. How payments are staged Deposit at signing , typically 30% of the build price. It holds your slot and funds the donor, frame work and major components. Progress payment one when the chassis and drivetrain are complete and the rolling chassis has been test-run. Progress payment two when body and paint are complete. Balance before release and delivery, after your final inspection in person or by video. Each stage is invoiced by RBS Customs LLC with a secure online payment link (bank transfer preferred for the larger payments; ACH and card also accepted). You receive photo updates at least monthly, and the estimated completion window (usually 10 to 16 months) is in the agreement. If plans change Cancel within 14 days of signing and the deposit is refunded less costs we have committed on your build. After that, payments are applied to completed work and ordered parts, and any unused balance is refunded.
